A must have for the avid pulp
collector

-To me,
*
-One of the greatest times in fiction was the
era of pulp fiction. It was a wild time of experimentation.
Wild new ideas in crime, mystery, science fiction, and detective.
Even in the area of romance.
-With writers pushing the boundaries of what decency----was
considered. Fiction was even considered more dangerous than the
communists. Rules, of moral decency were enforced (McCarthy Hearings)
even dominated everyday life.
And not only in fiction-
-But what came from those restrictions, can be
and will always be considered, some of the most adventurous, dramatic,
and down right hardest of fiction to be created and are now considered
institutions among those in the genre.
-What I want to bring back, is that same sense
of joy, pleasure, fun, that is missing in the fiction of today.
-Yes it's great to have a platform to speak of
the injustice and political and racial and evils of the world, and
there's a need for that voice to be heard.
-But, we, who write have to remember one thing.....
our main goal----is to entertain. Books and stories are meant to
entertain. Strange concept I know.
I want that fun back. The Shadow, Buck Rogers, Flash
Gordon, King of The Rocket Men, Doc Savage, etc.
We need that other, that balance to bring variety
back to fiction.
That's why I'm here.
BUCKLE UP--
FOR ADVENTURE!!!!!
